Schwinn Airdyne

If you have taken a look through the fitness equipment at a department store lately, you have probably wondered what happened to the older style exercise bikes that actually worked without all the modern gimmicks and programming. Well, you are in luck because sales of the Schwinn Airdyne are still as strong today as they were years ago.

While many consumers demand a lot of the advanced features that are now selling off the shelves, there are quite a few of others who just want the same high quality bikes that they used years ago or maybe that they saw their parents use when they were still living at home. The Schwinn Airdyne upright exercise bike is still around to serve this market.

Essentially the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bike looks like an older style bike, but it is clearly modernized with a sleek color design that gives it sporty appeal. Leaving off the advanced magnetic resistance systems that most other bikes use today, you will have to pedal harder and harder if you want more resistance. This is actually a great thing, since pedaling is what covers more miles which is what gets your heart rate up, which in turn is what brings you closer to your fitness goals.

The best feature of Airdyne bikes is the rotating handlebars which deliver a full body workout that most modernized exercise bikes neglect. Moving your arms will actually help your lower body get into the groove of the workout and go a little faster, but it will also ramp up your total calorie burn and make the workout or effective. The handlebars can be let go of if you do not want to include upper body in every workout.

The regular Airdyne will run you around $600, and the more advanced Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp with the highly praised resistance-based braking system will run around $800. Both models come with a 30 year warranty on the frame, 3 years on parts and electronics, and 1 year on labor and wear and tear issues.

Remember, you can always find the Schwinn Airdyne for lower prices if you seek out discount retailers online or wait for a great sale event. If you prefer this style of bike, there simply is no competition out there for the Airdyne.
